We are proud to play a small part in a couples love, marriage and future.
Not every venue shares or promotes that they welcome LGBTQ+ couples. When viewing websites and Instagram pages etc. We were looking for visibility.
We were also looking for a venue that wasn't the "classic" or "traditional" barn wedding, which we often see posted everywhere with straight couples.
It was more about the venue for us. We loved that it was laid back, industrial and had a party vibe. It was a bonus that we could see that lots of cool and interesting couples had had their weddings here before.
Visibility. Promote, share and show lots of different couples and their take on a wedding. Don't get caught up in being just one style of wedding. A venue can become whatever the couple want it to and this is the exciting part.
Shack absolutely offered a safe and non judgemental space. They loved (and encouraged) our ideas and were so supportive all the way through. Emily in particular gave us total piece of mind and as soon as we had our first meeting, we knew we were in very safe hands.
All the Shack staff were so accommodating and helpful throughout the process. The venue is gorgeous and super cool. It offers a party vibe and is the perfect size for all guests to feel included and part of something really special. The black walls and industrial-chic look also makes bloody great photos!
