While we know we’re not perfect, we’re committed to making better choices at every turn. A big part of that starts with our venue itself: a repurposed industrial space transformed into something vibrant, modern, and full of character. By giving new life to what was already here, we’re reducing waste from the ground up.
We only allow biodegradable confetti and are proud to partner with innovative, Herefordshire-based drinks brands like Penrhos and Foreva Farmers who are both leading the way in environmentally conscious production and sustainable practices.
Supporting local businesses that share our values is just another step in our mission to create events that are not only unforgettable, but also kinder to the planet.

Regenerative Tourism
We believe tourism should give back more than it takes and that’s exactly what we strive for through regenerative practices rooted in sustainability, community, and conscious design.
As a city-centre venue in the heart of Hereford, we’re perfectly placed to support low-impact travel. Our team commutes by walking, bike, train, or bus and we encourage the same for our event guests. With excellent public transport links, even large celebrations of up to 150 people can arrive by train, dramatically reducing the carbon footprint compared to car-reliant countryside venues.
Beyond reducing emissions, we’ve reimagined our space to breathe new life into an overlooked part of the city. What was once a derelict and unsightly area is now a vibrant, urban oasis alive with grapevines, climbing plants, wisteria, olive trees, and ivy.
Inside, our living plant wall brings nature into the heart of the venue, featuring monstera and other rich foliage. We’ve also installed bat and bird boxes throughout Bastion Mews to actively support local wildlife.
Our contribution to regenerative tourism goes beyond aesthetics. We’ve helped transform Bastion Mews into a thriving hub of independent businesses, creating a space where community and creativity can grow.
Every event hosted here not only supports local suppliers and producers, but also helps sustain a place that’s designed to give back, to the environment, the local economy, and the people who live and work here.
